Shadow Swatch Review.

Tuesday, 20 September 2016

M A K E U P   H A C K   O R    W A C K ?
So if you're anything like me, the thought alone of cleaning your brushes makes you want to chuck them all in the bin and start fresh, am I right? cleaning brushes is an absolute chore and to this day I am yet to meet anyone that actually gets a kick out of it, and if you're reading this and you do, then how much do you charge per hour? hashtag, slide into my dm's.
what also makes me want to bang my head against the door is when my all time favourite blending brush, shoutout to you morphe 330, is still covered in bright pink shadow from yesterday makeup...but could there be a simple solution?
Ladies, Gents, I may have found our knight in shining armour. . .
I was lucky enough to be sent the beauty essentials 'Shadow Switch' by the guys at DEE&CO and after trying it out for myself I couldn't wait to tell you all about it!

Before I get into it please be aware that the shadow switch I received does have the old packaging but I shall insert some pictures of the snazzy new packaging at the end for you to feast your eyes on.

Now, I could witter on for ages about how this works and what to do but honestly, its so newb friendly and easy to use that all you have to do is swirl your brush in the black insert and bobs your uncle, a clean brush ready to carry on using.
I decided to really put this to the test and try cleaning different brushes with different coloured eyeshadows on to see how clean they get, although obviously this is not an alternative to deep cleaning your brushes, to completely remove colour stains  your brushes will still need to be deep cleaned regularly.

THE VERDICT PLEASE.
I mean, the photos show themselves how great this product is, the shadow switch wont remove the staining on the brush from the eyeshadow but It does remove 100% of the actual product and previous build up so you can go from a bright pink to a cream without any worry of the colours blending.
I absolutely think this is a beauty essential and every makeup lover needs one, especially when they cost as little as £5.99!
All of the life hack Beauty Essentials products will soon be available on Sephora and on their own website but until then you are able to buy the shadow switch  here. and I highly recommend that you do!

September wish list.

Wednesday, 7 September 2016

I have a love hate relationship with wish lists posts and videos, I love them because they are great for gift ideas, and I hate them because I get serious fomo and end up increasing my basket total, this morning I wasn't feeling very motivated to do any of my current blog plans so decided to do some retail therapy instead, which then led me into thinking, I may as well share with the wold what I'm currently not having lunch at college to be able to buy... because I mean, the whole world desperate wants to know what a unknown 19 year old wants...right?
Similar to every other person on this planet there is a lot of things that I'm currently wanting, so trying to pick only 5 things was as you can imagine a near to impossible task, but being the trooper that I am, I just about managed it...although still debating over weather the 'unicorn fund' puse should have made the cut.
Its also my very fastly...is that even a word? coming up to Christmas, which kinda makes me wee a little with excitement not going to lie, (16 weeks and counting, can I put up my tree yet?) so if you have recently done a wish list post of video then please feel free to leave the link in the comments so I can fill my ever so little brain with ideas!
1) JEFFREE STAR LIQUID LIPSTICK// POSHSPICE.
Until recently I had no interest at all in Jeffree Star cosmetics, of course I had heard of it and knew of the products but to me, someone who doesn't really like bright lip colours, they didn't appeal to me, that was until beauty bay started stocking them last week.
as soon as I saw the new products alert the fomo adrenaline took over my body an before I knew it I was selecting my colour, I never realised they did nude colours as well as the out there blues and purples, after googling some swatches I fell in love with posh spice...and it was at that moment, it went out of stock!
you can find it here for £16
2) VILLAGE CANDLE// WARM BUTTERED BREAD
I can not even express to you guys how long it took me to decide what candle to feature in this post, it was like the final stages on the xfactor but after a very tough boot camp at the judges houses, warm buttered bread was crowned the winner.
I don't know about you but I always have a candle burning, I find they help me remember moments in my life i would have ordinarily forgot about, like for example the candle 'brownie delight' reminds me of the snot bubble of 2015 incident because it was burning at the time...does anyone else have that? obviously not the snot bubble, I hope!
village candles are a good alternative, if not better than Yankee candles, they have a lot more creative fragrances for half the price, and I aint mad at that!
you can find it here for £15
3)'I WOKE UP LIKE THIS'// MAKEUP BAG
I'm lucky enough to have a really nice white makeup set up, I have the Ikea malm dresser with the Alex 9 draws and all my makeup is categorically sorted away, but if you think id be normal and do my makeup there every morning than you would be wrong! I use the exact same makeup every single day which I keep by my bed in a tatty Ted Baker makeup bag which has seen..saw.., idk, but my point it that its had better days and I could really do with a new one.
Wiko's is 100% the underdog of the makeup world, some of my all time favourite makeup purchases have been from there including the prime of your life primer mentioned in a previous post and their brand new range of beige and gold makeup brushes, also does anyone else remember it being called 'wlkinsons' or have I made that up?
you can find it here for, wait for it, £3!
4) NIKE THEA// GREY
I'm sure if you are active on social media's you would have fo show seen these trainers while on your daily feed scroll, i'm not sure who exactly started the trend (as most trends are started by a celebrity) but these are the new 'cool' trainers to have.
with a hefty price tag i'm sure you can guess why these are on my wish list and not actually owned by me, they retail for around £70-£150 depending on your shoe size and the popularity of the colour, and aint nobody got time for that! im sure these will stay on my wish list for a very long time but they are defiantly the current trainers I'm dying over!
you can find it here for £70.
5) SPECTRUM// MARBLEOUS 7 PIECE SMOKE SET
If you have not already heard of the Glam Clam then you must of been living under a, glam..clam ( I hate myself for that awful joke) but back to my point, spectrum brushes are by far the most insta worth brushes around making them a beauty blogger necessity, they go great with marble.
I've recently brought the plain blue and pink 8 piece and 4 piece sets which I must say I'm really impressed with, not only do they look good they are also good quality as well, much better than the cheaper alternative which in my opinion is real techniques.
Blah blah blah I've wondered off trail yet again haha no surprise there! The marbleous collection has recently came available on beauty bay and is any makeup bloggers dream, who can say no to some white and gold makeup brushes?
you can find it here for £35
6) LIGHT UP SELFIE CASE// GOLD
Last but not least is something that I feel like everyone has but lil old me, which is suprising considering I'm more than happy to take any help I an get to look better in selfies, doublio chinio's be gone..o!
This one from coconut lane is a great dupe to the kim k LUMI seflie cases and is available In plenty of colours including rose gold, silver and bright pink!
you can find it  here for £20, OR you could use the code 'CLO20' getting 20% off making it literally only £16, did someone say bargin?

so that's my wish list for this month! be sure to comment bellow what yours are so I can add them to my never ending want list haha, also to make sure you never miss a post from me be sure to follow me on bloglovin (xvousetesbelle)

until next time, clo x

Life update&The relationship tag!

HI GUYS! so a lot has changed since the last time I've posted on this blog, ive had a really tough couple of months and really took a step back from social media and it's honestly done me the world of good, although I'm super happy to be back! I started a new Instagram @clolaurenn which already has 1,500 followers, like what?! I'm not even that interesting am I? I'm also now part of a blogger group with some amazing girls in and am receiving so much love and support, I just feel  really accepted by the beauty blogger community and although I'm no zoella, I'm defiantly getting there!

I've also just finished my first year of travel and tourism at college, I didn't excellent plan on doing 4 years of college but I really didn't enjoy my first 2 years and travel and aviation has always been a massive passion so I thought while I still had the amazing opertunity of free education I enrolled and I am loving every second of it, it feel so good to finally know what I want to do.

〰〰〰〰〰〰〰
I've decided to do the relationship tag because I want you guys to really get to know me more and my boyfriend is honestly the most important part of my life, I've never really had that close family bond with anyone apart from my grandad but I only like to tell him positive things and not bring him down, althoughI know he would 10000% be there in a heartbeat!
Anxiety and a depressive mindset can be such a heart thing to try and explain to anyone but he really tries to understand, and when he can't even try to understand he will just be there and I'm so lucky to have such an amazing soul in my life and I'm so great full to share every memory with him

Also I know you're suppose to ask him the questions but he's so camera shy so I figured I'd just answer the questions myself!

My boyfriend is called Martin, he is 19 years old and is a self employed builder in a family run business with his cousin, I'm so proud of him for doing so well and more importantly he loves what he does! He has the biggest heart and is so family orientated which is what I love about him!

Anyway, enough of me wittering, here's the.... BOYFRIEND TAGGGGG.

〰〰〰〰〰〰〰

*cue mastermind theme tune*

1. where did we meet? ||| we actually met the good old fashioned way and it's actually a super cute story, I'm the summer loads of groups of people from the town I live in all hang out on a big field called 'town park'... Genius name I know ahah, but anyway the field is full of groups of people having picnics, camping, singing, playing football etc and his group of friends asked my group of friend to come and sit with them, we no joke never left each other's sides from that moment and spend 26 days and nights in a row together, everyone told us 'you'll get bored of each other' 'it's the honey moon period' but 2 years on we're still insepritable!

2. what was our first date?   ||| Our first date was to the sea life centre as he knew I loved the ocean and sea life, although I was so poorly and was sick on the way home! How embarrassing!

3. where was our first kiss and how was it? ||| Our first Kiss was... On the first day we met (sorry!) in my bed room (sorry!), no that sounds a lot worse that what it was actually like don't worry! It's was 3am and he had walked me the over an hour walk home, it was CHUCKING it down so I let him sleep in my sisters room (my family were hardly home), he gave me a kiss goodnight and waited for me to fall asleep before going to bed.

4. did u know that he was the one || I honestly can't remember my first impressions, although I do remember trying to sneak a picture of him to show my friends which if I can find I'll insert it! I had quite low self asteem and was used to being messed around so probably not at first, after the first week or so though I knew it wasn't just a summer romance!

5. when did u meet the family ||| omg guys honestly I'm so glad this is a question! So he told me we were going to his to get his coat, I walked in and there was a massive family party, I could have literally died! They were all expecting me as well, I was so nervous but it actually turned out to be such a good night and I love them all so much now!

6. do we have a tradition ||| I have so many in my head right now! But my favourite ones are, taking a kissing selfie at 12 on New Years, watching 'how I met your mother' every Sunday morning, giving each other presents the day before our birthdays and we both Solomly (is that even the right word) to take a picture of any crocs and socks we see!

8. what was our first roadtrip ||| So I was going away on holiday 2 weeks after we met with my god mom who's a foster career, one of her kids couldn't come at last minute so Martin came instead, so I guess Greece in 2014!

9. who said i love u first? ||| Martin said it first, he said good night every single night then one day put 'night I love you'

10. what do we argue about the most |||  Probably over not putting things in the wardrobe for me and then for him watching YouTube videos too loud!

Martin is answering these questions about me by himself, I'll put a y/n!

14. whats the one food dont i like || 'you're so fussy so it's easy, but chillie ' ~ Y
15. we go out to eat what do i get to drink || 'j20 and lemonaid ' ~ y
16. what size shoe do i wear ||| ' 3?' ~ Wrong, I'm a 4, although he did plead me to say he got it right!
17. if i was collecting anything what would it be ~ 'postcards' ~ Y
19. what would i eat everyday if i could ~ 'mash potato' ~y

so that's it! Now you know all their is to know about my relash with m dawg... Joking! But I hope youve enjoyed this post and if you've got his far leave a comment below saying 'I love Moldy cheese' !:)

thanks for reading!

Sigma Mr.Bunny review.

A while ago now I managed to get my hand on these Sigma Mr bunny brush set, I had never tried any Sigma brushes before so didn't really know what to expect, they cost around £117 I believe so a bit of a pricey purchase so to help you guys I thought I'd give them a bit of a review before you splash the cash!

Appearance.

I'm mixed on this, I mean the packaging is Beautiful, the box itself has been so well thought of and is defiantly keep worthy, especially impressed by then card 'ribbon' on the top of the box, a nice little bit of detail which gives a more expensive feel to them.

The brushes also look very luxury and expensive, I'm a hater of matte wood so the shine on the brushes wood makes me very happy, I'm also a big fan of the holographic print which the text is wrote in, very easy to read and so far, has lasted with no rub off!
The sigma logo is also engraved into the metal of the brush, again a small bit of detail which doesn't go un noticed. The colouring however is not AS  impressive, I just feel like black an silver is so common on a makeup brush, am I right?

Quality.

THEY'RE SO FLUFFY IM GONNA DIE! no but seriously, the quality of these brushes is amazing! I was expecting good things but they honestly exceeded my expectations, the brush quality can not be at fault.
Not one hair has fell out my brushes since I got them 3 months ago, I have also since brought another set, ( the Jaqueline Hill set) and the quality is just as good so I recommend these to anyone, yes they may have been over £100 but they will last many years and the set includes a brush for every desire so how can you not?
The holographic text on the brush has also not shown any signs of warring off, even after being thrown around in my makeup bag and in the mouth of a 4 year old.
Over all, I'm VERY impressed with the quality of these brushes.

Worth the money?

One hundred percent yes they are worth the money, the brushes are available in blue or black I believe so a bit of choice there. They are around £117 for the set of 12 which works out around £10 per brush, slightly more than a RT brush but a lot better quality than a RT brush.
I will recommend these till the day I die so treat yourself girls and boys!:)
